Kurt Russell’s Big Trouble in Escaping from New York’s Little China?

Kurt Russell comic team-up...

Is it a case of Kurts Russell or Kurt Russells? Either way, the universe bends and Jack Burton and Snake Plissken are officially crossing paths!

Two of Kurt Russell’s most iconic characters, Snake Plissken from 1981’s Escape from New York and Jack Burton from 1986’s Big Trouble in Little China, both films directed by , will be coming together in the new six part comic book series written by Greg Pak, illustrated by Daniel Bayliss for Boom Studios.

The premise has of the ‘Pork Chop Express’ Jack Burton being transported into the dystopian future of 1997, where he crosses path with the familiar eye-patch sporting gravel voiced Snake Plissken. The series is set to run for six issues. We are very excited about the possibilities of this: will they be working together or on opposite sides working against each other, or perhaps a bit of both? The series is launching with double-covers for the first issue, and Boom will be releasing two more BTILC books, The Art of Big Trouble in Little China and The Making of Big Trouble in Little China.

Its hard to believe that it’s 30 years since Big Trouble debuted and 35 years since we were introduced to Snake Plissken in Escape... Both films have reboots in the work, with attached to the Big Trouble in Little China remake, and Escape from New York seemingly in need of an Escape from Development Hell – everyone from to being attached to the proposed at one point or another.

Here’s some reminders of those past classics…
