The first poster and official stills from Keanu Reeves' full blooded martial arts tale Man of Tai Chi were finally released this past week and today, Saturday April 20th, Reeves and his partners attended the 3rd Beijing Film Festival to unveil the official trailer for the much-anticpated venture.
The film will focus on a young martial artist (Tiger Chen) who is drawn into a deadly world where his martial skills are put to use for the entertainment and financial gain of a mysterious benefactor played by Reeves.
The film (which also stars Simon Yam, Karen Mok and Iko Uwais from The Raid), features significant and extended fight choreography by both Yuen Woo-ping and his team - as well as 8711 - and sees Yuen’s protégé Tiger Chen (Tai Chi Hero, The Matrix series) in his first leading role while Keanu not only has a rare turn as a cinematic villain, but also makes his full blooded directorial debut.
The film was shot in Hong Kong & China, and we're not ones to boast, but Impact’s Mike Leeder handled the casting for the film's globe-spanning list of fighters. The specific release dates have not been allocated as yet, but it should hit US and UK screens later this year...
In the meantime, here's that official trailer...
