TWD’s Negan to go on ‘Rampage’ for Rock…

Jeffrey Dean Morgan goes on Rampage

The Walking Dead’s Jeffrey Dean Morgan (aka Negan)  is the latest actor to join Dwayne Johnson’s game-to-movie outing ‘Rampage‘…

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s next movie is going to be another entry in the prolific but not always successful games-console-to-film genre. Rampage is believed to be an adaptation of the 1980s arcade game, though very few specifics have actually been released about the film which is set to hit cinemas in almost exactly a year’s time on 20th April 2018.

It is believed that, reflecting the game narrative, Johnson will have to face three monsters causing havoc across North America – so expect a CGI-heavy outing, with more fighting than talking. Proceedings will be directed by Beau Flynn with whom Johnson worked on San Andreas and Journey 2: The Mysterious Island which again points to the expected tone

But the film’s supporting cast is also expanding. Joining Johnson and the already-announced  Naomie Harris (Moonlight, the James Bond franchise), Watchmen/Billions‘ Malin Ackerman, Joe Manganiello, Jake Lacy, Marley Shelton, PJ Byrne, Jack Quaid, Matt Gerald and Breanne Hill is none other than the scourge of The Walking Dead, Negan himself, Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

Industry site Deadline reports that Morgan will play ‘Agent Russell’, an agent of a covert government organisation known as the OGA, though it’s not clear whether he’ll be a help or hindrance to our hero. The Walking Dead is currently on hiatus after finishing its current season last week, but will return in October.
