Will 'Night Fare' well at the box office?

Written by (Far Eastern Editor) on 13th May 2015

Are you talkin' to us?  Julien Seri's next feature is definitely on the meter as his 'Night Fare' shows the repercussions of a taxi-ride gone drastically wrong...

Night FareForget 'Joe le Taxi', it's 'Jess the Taxi Driver from Hell' in Night Fare, the third film film from director Julien Seri - following Scorpion and Children of the Wind (retitled as Bangkok Ninjas for its UK release..why???) The first trailer for the film has been released and shows what happens to two friends Luc and Chris, who - after cheating a taxi driver out of his fare -  find themselves hunted by the driver throughout the night and the mean streets...

The film was produced by Pascal Sid through Seri's Diagoro Films and has created quite a buzz for the project, The idea was shoot the movie no matter what, pour our energy into it and bring together a team of professionals, and not wait for classic financial schemes, which often take too long to fall into place,” explained Sid, “Although French genre movies have been having a hard time connecting with audiences, we think ‘Night Fare’ stands out because it comes from an experienced genre filmmaker who masters the codes of genre and can make a well-crafted movie with a limited budget.”

The film features UK-based French actor and MMA champion Jess the Joker Liaudin (as the vengeful taxi driver who could give Travis Bickle nightmares). We've been watching Liaudin for some time as he transitions from the fight game into the film game, and the man has a great look and a lot of charisma, and we hope this movie really puts him on the map. Sid will next direct L’Ile aux poupees (The Island of Dolls), a fantasy movie that could be described as a cross between Predator and The 13th Warrior

Vahina Giocante, Jonathan Howard and Jerome Lebanner are set to star. We'll let you know more as it develops...
